In June 2005, ZCFC organized a service trip to Lusaka, Zambia. 13 University students (Hiren Patel, Chandni Desai, Nitasha Puri, Arif Jetha, Farzad Akajouri, Eileen Knowles, Alex Singh, Shradah Krishnan, Adrian Ruffo, Anu Singh, Kashmira Parmar, Aliya Noormohamed and Nina Modi) spend three weeks of their summer volunteering, participating in several projects at the Kondawa Center in the Ngombe Compound and the ZCF Chishawasha Home and School.
During the trip the volunteers put together a library and playground, conducted HIV/AIDS training workshops in local high schools, shadowed home based care health workers, taught classes at the Chishawasha School and spend time with the children at the orphanage. This experience was eye-opening, heart wrenching and changed the lives of these thirteen individuals making it a life experience, which they will never forget.
